Keurig Dr Pepper sells stake in Chobani ahead of split; Corgan enters new market with M&A

Keurig Dr Pepper sells stake in Chobani ahead of split; Corgan enters new market with M&A

Keurig Dr Pepper has sold off its entire ownership position in the yogurt maker Chobani, using the cash to pay down debt as it prepares to divide the company into two separate businesses. The beverage giant had held a minority stake in Chobani since 2021, when it first invested as part of a broader partnership. The sale comes at a time when Keurig Dr Pepper is streamlining its portfolio and focusing on its core coffee and drink operations. The move is expected to simplify the balance sheet and give management more flexibility heading into the split, which is slated to take effect later this year.

In other deal news, private equity firm Align Capital Partners has wrapped up its exit from a portfolio company, marking the end of a holding period that spanned several years. The firm did not disclose the buyer or the financial terms of the transaction, but sources familiar with the matter say the sale generated a solid return for its investors.

Meanwhile, the architecture firm Corgan is making a push into a new sector with its latest acquisition. The Dallas-based company, known for its work on airports, data centers, and sports venues, has bought a smaller design practice that specializes in a fast-growing building type. The deal gives Corgan immediate access to a market it had not previously served, and leadership says more acquisitions are likely as the firm looks to expand its geographic and service reach.

September is off to a busy start for dealmakers, with more transactions expected to be announced in the coming weeks as companies look to position themselves before the end of the year.
