Lumen Christi Hosts Volleyball Tri-Meet and Dig Pink Night

The Lumen Christi volleyball program welcomed teams from across the region on October 12, 2026, for a tri-meet that doubled as the school's annual Dig Pink Night. The event combined competitive play with a fundraising effort aimed at supporting breast cancer awareness and research.

Three schools took part in the round-robin format, with each team facing off in a series of matches throughout the evening. Players wore special pink accessories and the gym was decorated to mark the occasion. Supporters filled the stands, and proceeds from admissions, concessions, and donations went toward the cause.

Henry Black captured the action for JTV Sports, documenting the matches and the community turnout. His photo gallery highlights key plays at the net, digs in the back row, and the moments between sets when players and coaches regrouped.

Dig Pink Night has become a tradition for the program, giving athletes a chance to compete while contributing to something larger than the sport. Coaches and organizers noted the importance of using athletics to bring attention to health issues that affect many families in the community.

The tri-meet also served as a tune-up for the postseason, with several teams using the matches to test rotations and give younger players valuable court time.
