Burglary Spree Hits 18 Pleasanton Businesses in One Morning

At least 18 businesses in Pleasanton were broken into during a coordinated burglary spree early Thursday morning, according to local police.

Authorities responded to multiple alarm calls starting around 3 a.m. as reports came in from several shopping centers across the city. Investigators say the suspects smashed glass doors and windows to get inside, then grabbed cash, electronics, and other valuables before moving quickly to the next target.

Surveillance footage shows several people working together, suggesting the break-ins were planned rather than random. Police believe the group used multiple vehicles to move between locations and escape before officers could arrive.

When patrol units spotted a vehicle matching the description, a pursuit began. Officers followed the suspects onto the highway but ended the chase shortly after because of safety concerns. Speeds had climbed dangerously, and police said continuing the pursuit would have put the public and the officers at serious risk.

No arrests have been made so far. Detectives are reviewing security camera footage and collecting evidence from each damaged storefront. Business owners spent the morning boarding up windows and cleaning up debris while assessing their losses.

Police are asking anyone with information about the break-ins or the suspects to come forward. They also urged residents and business owners to check their cameras for anything unusual in the early morning hours.
