Executive Connections, a speed networking event, brought 24 alumni executives to campus to meet MBA and Specialized Master's students. The format gave participants short, focused conversations that rotated throughout the session, allowing students to practice their pitch and learn about different industries in a single evening.
Organizers designed the event to break down the barriers that often keep students from approaching senior professionals. Instead of formal presentations, the structure encouraged direct dialogue about career paths, hiring trends, and the skills employers value most. Alumni said the quick rotations let them meet a wide range of candidates and offer practical advice without the pressure of a traditional interview setting.
Students described the experience as useful preparation for recruiting season. Many left with clearer expectations about day-to-day work in fields such as consulting, finance, and marketing, along with tips on how to present their experience. Several alumni offered to stay in touch and suggested follow-up conversations.
The event reflects a broader push to keep graduates engaged with the campus community. By turning networking into a series of brief, purposeful exchanges, organizers hope to build lasting relationships that support students well beyond graduation.
