A new way to read, watch, and listen to Business Insider

A new way to read, watch, and listen to Business Insider

Business Insider has launched a redesigned homepage that merges its written articles, video segments, and audio shows into a single, continuous feed. The update marks a shift away from the site's earlier layout, where each format lived in its own separate section and readers had to jump between tabs to switch from a news story to a documentary clip or an interview podcast.

The new interface uses a modular design that lets users scroll through a mix of formats without leaving the page. A written analysis on market trends might sit directly above a short documentary on warehouse automation, followed by an audio explainer on the same topic. The goal, according to the team behind the rollout, is to let the story itself guide the format, rather than forcing editors to pick one medium upfront.

Editors now have the ability to pair related coverage across formats. For example, a breaking news piece on a tech earnings call can be accompanied by a video clip of the CEO's remarks and a podcast segment where reporters break down what it means. The system also learns from user behavior, so the more someone reads, watches, or listens, the more the feed adapts to their preferences.

The company says this is not just a visual refresh but a fundamental change in how its newsroom plans coverage. Producers and reporters are being encouraged to think in terms of story packages from the start, rather than producing a piece for one channel and then repurposing it later. Early tests showed that readers who engaged with more than one format on a single topic spent significantly longer on the site and returned more often.

The new homepage is rolling out gradually over the next few weeks. Existing subscribers will see the change automatically, while new visitors will be prompted to create a free account to access the full range of content. The company has not announced any changes to its pricing or subscription tiers as part of this update.
