NeuroGlow, a ketamine clinic operating in Tarrant County, is making a name for itself by offering IV ketamine infusions and esketamine nasal sprays for patients struggling with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, and PTSD. But the clinic's CEO, Dr. Marcus Hale, has a bigger vision in mind. He wants to push beyond ketamine and into the broader field of psychedelic medicine, including compounds like psilocybin and MDMA, as research continues to show their potential for mental health care.

The clinic itself is designed to feel less like a hospital and more like a calm retreat. Soft lighting, reclining chairs, and noise-canceling headphones help patients settle in for sessions that typically last around two hours. During an infusion, a nurse monitors vital signs while a therapist checks in periodically. Hale says the goal is to create a safe container for what can be an intense, introspective experience.

Ketamine has gained traction in recent years as a rapid-acting option when traditional antidepressants fail. Unlike daily pills, ketamine often works within hours or days, and the effects can last weeks. NeuroGlow has seen steady growth since opening, with a waitlist for new patients. But Hale is already looking ahead. He believes the next wave of treatment will involve psychedelics that are currently in late-stage clinical trials, particularly for PTSD and end-of-life anxiety.

Regulatory hurdles remain significant. Psilocybin and MDMA are still Schedule I substances at the federal level, though the FDA has granted breakthrough therapy status to both for specific conditions. Hale is cautiously optimistic, noting that state and local laws are shifting. He is already in talks with researchers and plans to be among the first clinics in the region to offer these therapies if and when they become legal.

For now, NeuroGlow continues to focus on ketamine, which is legal and widely used off-label. Hale says the clinic has treated over 1,200 patients since opening, with a reported success rate of around 70 percent showing meaningful improvement. He acknowledges that the field is still young and that more long-term data is needed. Still, he sees a future where psychedelics are as common in psychiatry as SSRIs are today, and he wants NeuroGlow to be at the forefront of that shift.
