The City of North Miami Beach is gearing up for its 5th Annual Small Business Summit and Expo, an event designed to connect local entrepreneurs with the tools and networks they need to grow. Commissioner Daniela Jean and small business owner Sergei Grant recently shared their thoughts on why this gathering matters for the community.
Jean emphasized that the summit is more than just a networking event. It offers practical workshops on funding, marketing, and city regulations. She noted that many small business owners struggle with navigating permits or accessing capital, and the expo aims to bridge those gaps directly. Grant, who runs a local retail shop, agreed. He said that in past years, he found mentors and even a new accountant at the summit. He urged other owners to attend, calling it a rare chance to get face time with city officials and industry experts without the usual red tape.
The event will feature panel discussions, vendor booths, and one-on-one consultations. Organizers hope to attract both established businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs. Jean stressed that the city sees small businesses as the backbone of the local economy, and the summit is a concrete way to support them. Grant added that for anyone feeling stuck or isolated in their business journey, this expo offers a clear path forward. The summit is free and open to the public, with registration available online.
