The Campus to Community student fund program, run by the Center for Student Entrepreneurship, is built to help student founders move from a campus-supported business to a community venture. Students can pitch for up to $10,000 in non-equity grant funding, money that does not require giving up ownership or equity in their companies.
Six student entrepreneurs were selected for the program, which pairs grant support with guidance as participants work to grow beyond the campus market. The focus is on practical steps: testing products with real customers, refining business models, and building the confidence to operate outside the campus bubble.
For many students, the gap between a good idea and a working business is money and mentorship. The fund addresses both by offering capital that does not dilute ownership and by connecting founders to people who have built companies before. Organizers say the goal is not just to hand out grants but to help students learn how to pitch, plan, and execute under real conditions.
The program reflects a broader push to treat student entrepreneurship as serious work rather than a side project. By funding ventures that already have campus traction, the initiative aims to give young founders a realistic path to serving customers well beyond their own community.
