A new financial assistance initiative is now accepting applications from local businesses in Santa Fe that have suffered losses due to criminal activity. The program, designed to provide immediate support, is backed by $210,000 in dedicated funding.
Eligible businesses can receive grants to help cover costs associated with incidents such as burglary, vandalism, theft, or property damage. The funds are intended to alleviate the direct financial burdens these crimes impose, which can be particularly challenging for small, independently-owned operations.
Applications will be reviewed and grants awarded on a rolling basis. Officials emphasize that the money will be distributed directly to qualified applicants until the allocated funds are depleted, urging interested business owners to apply promptly.
This effort represents a direct response to concerns from the local business community about the economic and emotional toll of crime. By providing this tangible support, the program aims to help stabilize affected enterprises, allowing them to repair damages, replace stolen items, and continue serving their neighborhoods without bearing the full cost of their recovery.
