A break-in at a cell phone store in Norcross early Wednesday morning escalated into a multi-county police chase, ending with the arrest of a man and a juvenile. Gwinnett County police responded to an alarm at the business around 3 a.m. and found evidence of a forced entry. Officers spotted a vehicle matching the description of a suspect car leaving the area and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over.
The pursuit moved through several jurisdictions, including parts of DeKalb and Fulton counties, before the suspects finally stopped near the Atlanta city limits. Police say the vehicle had been reported stolen. Inside the car, officers recovered a large number of new cell phones and other electronics believed to be taken from the Norcross store.
The adult suspect, whose name has not been released, faces charges including burglary, fleeing and eluding police, and theft by receiving stolen property. The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to a youth detention center. No injuries were reported during the chase. The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to determine if the suspects are linked to other similar break-ins in the area.
