Magic Mini Golf closes in Delmar Loop; Joe Edwards teases new business

Magic Mini Golf, the whimsical indoor attraction that brought an 18-hole miniature golf course, two shuffleboard courts, and a working five-car Ferris wheel to the Delmar Loop, has closed its doors. The venue first opened in October 2023, offering a quirky escape from the weather with its brightly lit, family-friendly setup. But after just over a year in operation, the business has quietly shut down.

Developer and entertainment impresario Joe Edwards, who spearheaded the project, is already looking ahead. In a brief statement, Edwards confirmed the closure but teased that something new is in the works for the space. He did not offer specifics, only saying that plans are still being shaped and that he remains committed to keeping the Delmar Loop vibrant.

The Ferris wheel, a standout feature that could fit inside the building, drew curious visitors and became a minor landmark in the neighborhood. The shuffleboard courts also attracted a steady crowd of adults looking for a casual night out. But despite the novelty, foot traffic and revenue apparently did not sustain the operation.

Edwards has a long history of revitalizing the Loop with eclectic venues, from vintage shops to music clubs. Locals are now watching closely to see what he will pull together next. For now, the Ferris wheel sits still, and the golf clubs are packed away.
