International Business Machines (IBM) Unveils Real Time App Security Collaboration

International Business Machines has announced a new collaboration with Zscaler and Red Hat aimed at tightening application security for enterprise clients. The joint effort combines IBM and Red Hat software platforms with Zscaler threat intelligence to deliver real time protections at the application layer.

Under the arrangement, the partners plan to coordinate vulnerability discovery, automated policy updates, and validated software remediation workflows for shared customers. The goal is to catch flaws earlier and push fixes faster than traditional patch cycles allow, reducing the window attackers have to exploit known weaknesses.

The collaboration reflects a broader shift in how large vendors approach security. Instead of treating applications as isolated assets, the focus is moving toward continuous monitoring and rapid response across hybrid cloud environments. By linking threat data with development and operations tooling, the companies hope to close gaps that often appear between security teams and software delivery groups.

IBM has steadily expanded its security portfolio in recent years, betting that enterprises will pay for integrated protection rather than stitching together separate tools. Zscaler brings cloud based threat visibility, while Red Hat contributes its enterprise Linux and container platforms. The three firms said the work will target mutual customers first, with broader availability expected as the program matures.
