Cal State Fullerton's College of Business and Economics started a new tradition on May 16 by hosting its first Graduate Programs Hooding Ceremony. The event was designed to recognize graduates from the MBA and specialized master's programs for their hard work and accomplishments in both academics and their careers.
A total of 250 graduates took part in the ceremony. Each one was hooded by a member of the CSUF faculty, marking a formal and symbolic moment of completion. After receiving their hoods, the graduates also posed for a group photo with Sri Sundaram, the college dean.
The ceremony gave students a chance to celebrate their achievements in a more personal and focused setting than a larger university-wide commencement. For many, the hooding ritual represents the transition from student to professional, and the event aimed to highlight the dedication required to earn an advanced business degree.
College officials expressed hope that the ceremony will become an annual tradition, providing future cohorts of graduate students with a memorable milestone as they finish their programs and move into the next stage of their careers.
