Business People: Best Buy names former Nordstrom exec Anne Bramman as CFO

RETAIL

Best Buy has found its next chief financial officer, tapping Anne Bramman for the role. The Richfield-based electronics retailer said Bramman will start on Aug. 19 as executive vice president and CFO. She comes over from Circana, a market research firm, where she most recently served as CFO. Before that, she spent several years at Nordstrom, holding the same top finance position at the department store chain.

Bramman takes over from Matt Bilunas, who has been with Best Buy for over two decades and stepped down from the CFO post earlier this year. Bilunas had been in the role since 2019. The company has been navigating a tough stretch for consumer electronics, with sales sliding as shoppers pull back on big-ticket items like TVs and laptops. Best Buy has leaned into services and membership programs to offset some of that weakness.

CEO Corie Barry said in a statement that Bramman brings a strong mix of retail and finance experience, plus a track record of driving growth and efficiency. Bramman also held finance leadership roles at Target and Gap earlier in her career. Her appointment comes as Best Buy works to steady its bottom line and find new ways to compete with online rivals. The company has not indicated any further changes to its executive team.
